The film tells the story of a man without a name hired by the inhabitants of a small town to protect against three bandits who recently left prison, where they came for crimes committed in this town. A person who agreed to defend them has his own reasons to take part in this - several years ago, when he was in the service of the law, the bandits beat him to herself half to death, but none of the inhabitants of this town joined. He managed to take revenge on both with the severity and charm characteristic of Eastwood.
