Jacob Singer, wounded in Vietnam, returns home to New York. Those tormented by the memories of the son and horrors of war, Jacob gradually loses control of reality. But in the end it turns out that only his friend Louis is the only person whom Jacob can count on. The case takes an even more gloomy turn when he finds out that his comrades in arms suffer from similar hallucinations.
