The picture tells about Colin Smith, a young man, sentenced after a bakery robbery to stay in a correctional school. The school principal believes in the rehabilitation capabilities of sports and, having learned that Colin is a born runner, persuades him to train in order to be able to participate in local competitions, which will provide him with special privileges in case of victory. Most of the film is busy with Colin’s training, during which he recalls the events, people and relationships with them, which led him to such a result. The day of the competition comes, Colin easily defeats rivals, but a completely unexpected feint throws out at the finish line ...
