The Second World War, France is occupied by the Nazis. The rector of the Catholic College for boys decides to give a shelter to several Jewish children. The main character, a French boy named Julien Kanten, made friends with one of them. And when the Gestapo on someone’s tip reveals the sin of the abbot, and he, together with Jewish children, is taken away to certain death, this becomes a terrible blow for life for life.
