Twelve -year -old Anna is a closed and non -literate girl. She has no friends, and the only outlet is drawing. Due to poor health, Anna is sent to a small town in Hokkaido for the summer. There she meets Mernie - a girl living in a large rich house on a shallow. Gradually, they become good friends. This friendship helps Anna reconcile with herself and the world around him.
