In October 1957, an event of epochial significance occurred. The Soviet Union for the first time in the history of mankind launched the first `satellite` into the earth`s orbit. The world has become different. The launch of the Soviet rocket made an indelible impression on a boy named Homer Hikem from a small mining town of Colwood in West Virginia. Seriously the `sick` cosmos, Homer decides to build his own rocket. Three friends and school teacher begin to help him in this. However, the father of Homer, Shakhtar - a hard worker, who sees his son only in the role of a successor of his difficult matter, categorically resist the aspirations of his child. But, in spite of everything, the boy will do everything possible and impossible for his dream to become a reality ...
