France, 1949. Desperate to find a job, music teacher Clement Mathieu enters the boarding school for difficult teenagers. There he sees what cruel `educational measures` the rector of this institution Rashan is running to. The more Rashan mocks the boys, the more aggressive they become. The good -natured by nature Mathieu is outraged by these methods, but he is not able to openly protest. But once to him, the author of numerous musical works that he modestly hides in his room, comes up with a wonderful idea: to organize a school choir.
