The life of the rich American Irene living in Rome turns into chaos after her son commits suicide. Women`s sorrow leads Irene to the realization that she lives a small, empty life and makes her change her path. From now on, Irene devotes his life to spiritual searches, helping the victims of social injustice - a sick prostitute, an unmarried mother of six children. But Irene interferes with her husband.
