The last days of the First World War. Captain Pradel, a villain, for whom human life is nothing, sends to the faithful death of two ordinary people - a brilliant young artist, the son of a millionaire Eduar Perico, and a former banking worker Albert Maylar. Eduar saves Albert’s life, but he is seriously wounded. His face is monstrously mutilated, and so he does not want to return to his father`s castle. Declaring himself dead and hiding his face under the mask forever, Eduar begins to write amazing paintings about the war. Albert becomes impresario "man without a face."
