The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
In the post -war London, a young writer Juliet is trying to find a plot for a new book, but she decisively does not want to write about the horrors of war, other topics seem either boring or inappropriate. A case comes to the rescue - in the form of a letter of one pigster from the island of Gernssey. It turns out that even pigs are loved to read, and the unknown doi, to whom a book that once belonged to Juliet fell into his hands, asks her to advise a good bookstore. The fact is that Gernsy with books is now tight, since the island, during the war, occupied by the Germans, is just reviving to life. The letter turns the life of Juliet. The history of the book club, which has become a cover for prohibited meetings of the inhabitants of the village, fascinates and delays it. So the correspondence begins with a variety of people.
