The story of the 12-year-old boy atar Kobayashi, who is patronized by the corrupt mayor of Kobayashi. When, by decree of the latter, all the home dogs of the city of Megasaki are expelled to a huge landfill, Atari alone goes on a miniature aircraft to the garbage island to find his faithful dog nicknamed the SPTS.
