The new victim of a telephone maniac from the town of Woodsboro can be another girl - Sidney Prescott. A year ago, her mother was raped and killed, now the maniac threatens her herself. But in the first night battle with the killer, the girl was able to escape. The police find a mask and a raincoat at the site of the attempt. However, such masks can be bought in a horror shop, and there is no use for investigation from the evidence found.
