1983, Italy. Elio is seventeen, and he spends this summer at the villa with his parents, an American professor and an Italian translator. The young man from childhood is well -read and inquisitive, Elio dilutes ordinary summer classes like swimming in the sea and a lazy flirt with a friend of Marcia Reading and transcribing classical music. One fine day, however, the serenity of the summer vacation violates the arrival of Oliver - the young American scientist, assistant to Father Elio.
