Winnie The Pooh Goes Feral In The Blood And Honey Trailer

What happens when a sweet, cuddly icon that has been a mainstay of children's entertainment for decades is made public? If you're Winnie the Pooh, someone will jump at the opportunity and make a gory, gory horror movie in which you and Piglet's best friend go hunting. The full trailer for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is out now.
The basic setup for this is that Christopher Robin (Nicholas Leon) actually abandoned his Hundred Acre Wood buddies to go to college. And when he returns with his fiancee Mary (Paula Koise), he learns the terrible truth about what happened.
“Because they had to fend for themselves so much, they basically went wild,” writer-director Reese Waterfield tells Variety. “So they went back to their animal roots. They are no longer tame: they are like a vicious bear and a pig that wants to walk around and try to find prey.”
With Pooh, played by Craig David Dowsett, and Piglet, played by Chris Cordell, no one would mistake this for a Disney movie. Which is good from a legal standpoint, as the House of Mouse still owns some of the characters and concepts from the Pooh tales.
"When you're trying to make a movie like this, and it's a really wacky concept, it's very easy to go down the path where there's nothing scary and just really funny and really stupid," Wakefield says of his low-budget film. horror. "And we wanted to go between them."
Blood And Honey has a distributor but no release date yet.
